2014 QB Ramroth Finnegan (6’3, 205, 4.75) of Whetstone HS in Columbus, Ohio is hearing frequently from Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Boston College, and Pittsburgh. He told Deep South Recruiting that “I’m getting mail from the whole Big 10 and the MAC. Akron is sending me a lot of mail, talking about setting up a visit. I know I’ll visit Toledo during the winter.”
Finnegan has already started making the rounds, taking in as many unofficial visits as he can fit into his schedule. “I’ve been to Pittsburgh for a game, liked it a lot. I was impressed with their style of play,” he said. “But they have a verbal commitment from a 2014 QB, I’m not sure they’re going to take two, but I liked what I saw.
“I’ve been to Ohio, Indiana, and Bowling Green,” Finnegan said. “I’ve also been invited by Penn St. to watch them play against Ohio St.“
He returned from a trip last weekend from Ann Arbor to visit the Wolverines. “I loved the stadium, their tradition. The fans were very supportive and really care about the program. It’s the best visit I’ve had so far.”
Whetstone’s starting quarterback camped at Indiana, Louisville, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Ohio, and Bowling Green last summer and he’ll be active on the camp circuit again this offseason. “I’ll attend some Junior Days after the season and I’ll camp at Kentucky, Cincinnati, and Ohio St. just to compete.”
Finnegan mentioned that playing for a winning program would enrich his college experience and might even enter into his decision making. “I like tradition. It would mean a lot to play for a winning program. The fan support and the overall atmosphere is better and more fun when you’re having success.”
With all the attention he’s receiving, one program is standing out to him at the moment. “I hear from Indiana almost everyday and we’re building a great relationship. I love the facilities and campus, their scheme, so I’d have to say Indiana is my favorite right now.”
