2014 RB/CB Joe Ledet Being Courted by Several Programs

Joe Ledet Highlights

2014 RB Joe Ledet (6’0, 217, 4.49) of South Beauregard High in Louisiana is on the verge of seeing his recruitment take off. “Louisiana LafayetteLouisiana TechLSUMississippi St., and Iowa are expressing a lot of interest.”

Ledet told Varsity Preps that Iowa recently entered the picture. “I spoke with Coach Bobby Kennedy, he told me they’re evaluating my film, they think I’m an aggressive player and they’re going to send someone down to spring practice to see me in person.”

The Ragin’ Cajuns are serious about Ledet, not only at running back, but possibly at corner. “ULL has invited me to a Junior Day and I’ll camp with them this summer. Head Coach Mark Hudspeth is recruiting me, he’s saying that he really likes me. I’m expecting an offer from ULL shortly.”

Skip Holtz and the Bulldog staff are also in pursuit of the junior standout. “Louisiana Tech RB Coach Jabbar Juluke is telling me they’re going to offer, but that the staff is discussing for which position, running back or corner. The staff is even considering me for wide receiver.”

Ledet reports lengthy and detailed discussions with LSU RB Coach Frank Wilson. “LSU wants me for camp. I’ll be playing for the Bootleggers 7-on-7 team, and the Tigers staff said they want to see me perform well and that an offer from them could follow.”

Programs located across the country want to bring in the talented back for a closer look. “OregonDukeTCUOklahoma St.PurdueHawaii, and Memphis have invited me to their camps.”

One of Louisiana’s Top 20 players, Ledet talked about his plans for the next couple of weeks. “I’ll attend the ULL Junior Day next weekend, and the LSU staff wants me to swing by spring practice. Mississippi St. would like for me to drop by, too.”

Ledet lists no frontrunners and knows when he’d like to have a decision in place. “I’m wide open, I don’t have any favorites and everyone is even,” he said. “I’d prefer to end the recruiting process early and have a verbal commitment made later this spring or by summer.”

FLORIDA

– 2014 LG Dave Montas (6’2, 276) of Hialeah High in Florida doesn’t claim any offers, but he’s hearing from Rutgers, Iowa, FAU, Northern Arizona, and Jacksonville St. He’s been invited to Junior Days at FAU and Miami.

He’ll camp at Georgia, Marshall, Tennessee, FSU, and a few others to get as much exposure to college coaches as possible. He’s also been invited to the NFTC and Rivals/Under Armour Combine.

Montas sports a 3.1 GPA. He told Deep South Recruiting that Rutgers and Northern Arizona are recruiting him the hardest. He says his pass blocking and get off are the strengths of his game. The biggest factor when choosing a program will be academic prestige and he’d like to have a verbal commitment in place by the end of summer.

– 2014 QB Anthony Siciliano (5’11, 187, 4.65) of Winter Springs HS in Florida is receiving interest from Purdue, Wisconsin, Rutgers, Rice, and Oklahoma, among others.

He’ll attend Purdue, Arkansas, and Boise St. for Junior Day. He’s been invited by the Boilermakers to attend their spring game on April 13th. Miami and Arkansas have expressed interest in bringing him over for spring visits as well, receiving a handwritten letter from the Canes requesting him to attend spring practices.

Siciliano will attend camps at Rice, Oklahoma St.Oregon, Florida St., USF and Wisconsin, and maybe a few others. He’s owns a 3.3 GPA and will major in sports management. Here’s his junior film: Siciliano Jr. film

VIRGINIA

– 2015 QB Chris Riddle (6’2, 190) of Bishop O’Connell HS in Arlington, VA was most recently at a Junior Day in Baton Rouge to check out the LSU Tigers. “I was one of only two 2015 recruits there, got some good one-on-one time with new OC Cam Cameron. We talked about the new offenseif and what was going to change. He said that he was impressed with me and wants to see more from me.” Riddle likes the tradition and the fact that the LSU staff is seasoned and tested.

He’s also visited Georgia, Boston College, and Notre Dame unofficially at the end of last season. Penn St. and Florida are showing new interest and LSUGeorgia, Florida, and Notre Dame are standing out to him currently. Here’s his personal website that includes film: chrisriddleqb.com

2015 WR Devante Peete, Blanche Ely HS, Florida

2015 WR Devante Peete (6’5, 180, 4.5/40) of Blanche Ely HS in Pompano Beach, FL is well on his way to being a national recruit. His blend of size and speed is rare and will be highly coveted. ”I’m getting a lot of interest from the University of Miami. I also get mail from Florida, Florida St., LSU, Alabama, Oklahoma, PurdueIowa, and North Carolina,” Peete said. “I think I’m close to my first offer from Purdue.”

Peete recently stood out at Al Golden’s first camp. “In one-on-ones, the coaches moved me to work out with the seniors. I feel I held my own against them,” he said. “I bonded well with Westminster Christian QB Hunter Boyett and I talked with Coach Golden, Coach (George) McDonald, and Coach (Brennan) Carroll during camp.”

Blanche Ely’s budding star reports he likes Miami’s program. “I’ve liked the Hurricanes since I was little. I was born in Miami, my dad is a big fan and my whole family loves Miami football. I’ve been watching them growing up, so I’m very interested in UM.”

Peete will also camp at USFMiami again on June 21st, and FSU in July.

He talked about factors that will determine his college choice. “As of right now, I’m open to all schools. I would like to stay in state because I’d like for my family to see me play,” Peete said. “At the end of the day, I’ll choose what’s best for me and make my own decision based on what I feel best fits me.”

The young receiver talked about the importance of building relationships with his future coaches and teammates. “I need to click with my position coach, my fellow receivers, and my quarterback. My relationships with the head coach, quarterbacks coach, and offensive coordinator will be important because they have to be able to trust me.”

Early playing time will factor into his final decision. “It’s going to mean something to me to play early. It would be a dream to play and start as a freshman. It’s not going to be handed to me, but I’ll continue to work hard to accomplish that goal.”

Peete feels he creates mismatches in the passing game for Ely. “My size and speed are difficult to defend, and I can get up the field in a hurry,” he said. “I can get off the jam and run by corners, then make the difficult catches.”

He explained what he wants to perfect this offseason. “I’m working on my explosiveness, getting in and out of my cuts. I watch Andre and Calvin Johnson workout online, and I pattern my workouts after theirs.”

He has lofty goals for himself this fall. “Last year as a freshman I scored five TDs. My goal is to score 10 this year, lead Broward County in receptions and yards, and be the greatest WR to come out of Blanche Ely.”

Peete also competes in track and basketball. On the basketball court, he averages 15 points, seven rebounds, and six assists per game. In track, he runs the 100M and 200M events.

He told Deep South Recruiting that the recent Miami Dolphins 7-on-7 event has helped him make his name more familiar to college recruiters. “It’s good to get the exposure,” Peete said. ”On Saturday, I scored seven TDs and posted two INTs. On Sunday, I scored twice, but we came up short. Mainly, I feel like I’m developing trust with my quarterback and know that will pay off in the fall.”

Peete’s uncle, Rodney Peete, played QB for USC and the LionsCowboysEaglesRedskinsRaiders, and Panthers in the NFL.
