2013 RB Donovan Rattigan, Everglades HS, Florida

2013 RB Donovan Rattigan (5’9, 190, 4.43) of Everglades HS says he is hearing from South Dakota, Syracuse, StanfordWake Forest, Memphis, Temple, and Marshall.

This summer, Rattigan got some exposure by attending a camp. “I went to Al Golden’s camp and really enjoyed myself,” he said. “I felt like I performed well and I stacked up favorably against the big-time talent out there.”

He discussed what he’s seeking from a college program. “Location doesn’t matter to me. I’m willing to travel.”

Rattigan said early playing time wouldn’t sway him. “If I was able to get on the field my first year, that would be a blessing, but I think if I redshirted it would make me hungrier.”

His relationship with his college running backs coach will be important. “I have to have a bond with my position coach. That’s the guy that will be teaching me for four years.”

He thinks his strengths are “my speed, strength, and hands.” Rattigan says he’s been concentrating on getting faster this summer.

He has expectations for himself and Everglades this fall. “My goal is to rush for 150 yards or better every game,” he said. “If I do that, I think we can win all our district games and win a state championship. Our team is training hard, and I believe hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”
