2014 RB Henry Bussey, Hialeah HS, Florida

2014 RB Henry Bussey (5’9, 175, 4.49/40) of Hialeah HS in Florida recently toured programs across the Deep South with the Florida Fire 7-on-7 squad. Stops included Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Vanderbilt, Clemson, Louisiana Lafayette, LSU, and Florida St.

Bussey talked about a few programs that stood out to him. ”The Fire went to Ole Miss and competed in a 7-on-7 tournament there, but we ended up one game short of reaching the finals,” he said. “I was proud of how our team played.

“During our visit, I was impressed with the facilities, especially the weight room,” he said. “I really enjoyed being around the staff. They’re high energy and I felt comfortable around them. I will consider Ole Miss during my recruitment.”

After visiting Nashville to see Vanderbilt, the tour continued on to South Carolina to visit Clemson. “The staff showed us a highlight tape from last season. They showed us the stadium, the locker room, and told us how they produce NFL players,” he said. “I was really impressed with Clemson and I could see myself playing there.”

The Fire team then drove to Louisiana Lafayette to visit their campus. “We took a tour of the facilities and they talked to us about their program. After the tour ended, one of the coaches came up to me and started talking with me, asked me if I had any offers. I told him I didn’t have one, and that’s when he told me I had my first one from Louisiana Lafayette.”

After a quick stop in Baton Rouge to visit LSU, the trip concluded with a camp in Tallahassee. “Coach Eddie Gran was talking to me about FSU, their academics and football program, how they need running backs,” Bussey said. “I liked Coach Gran and I could see myself at Florida St. for four years.”

Deep South Recruiting will have more reaction from prospects that took the trip in the coming days.
