2013 WR/RB Bernard Brown (5’8, 165, 4.41/40) of Wolfson HS in Florida doesn’t have any verbal offers, but he hears from Georgia Tech, Temple, FAU, and Ole Miss often.
This summer, Brown will begin play for the 904 Elite 7-on-7 all star travel squad and has participated in Will Muschamp’s camp, the MVP Camp in Georgia, and the VTO Camp held in Orlando. He talked about his experience at the recent VTO Camp. “I got a chance to compete against some of the best area players, and it was a great learning experience for me. Most corners had problems checking me at the line,” he said. “I proved I can hold my own against the best.”
Brown said his current Top 5 is Ole Miss, Hawaii, West Virginia, Florida, and Miami. He explained what he likes about his favorite programs. “Ole Miss takes smaller players sometimes and my speed is forcing them to take a closer look at me.
“West Virginia runs a spread offense and I think my skills fit perfectly in their scheme.
“Florida likes speed and I can bring that to Gainesville. I could see myself playing RB there.
“Miami would be my dream destination. My family has supported UM football for a long time.”
Brown talked about what will be important in his recruitment. “Early playing time would be great. I’d like to make an early impact for the program that takes me,” he said. “I’m up for the challenge.
“As long as I can get a great education and have a chance to play, school location doesn’t matter to me. I’d really like a chance to play in the ACC or SEC.”
Brown also runs track (400M) and said he’d prefer to be committed by the completion of his senior season.
